Tulipiere

Rooted in ceramics history, originating from the 17th century in The Netherlands (where there's lots of tulips) originally as a status symbol. I teach a bit about the history of this form and show examples of different takes on it from different cultures over the years and well is bring in contemporary examples. It's a fun project for advanced students to push their forms beyond the basic vessels. Encourages them think about either additively or reductively creating space for flowers to be inserted in the vessel at different positions throughout. It makes an amazing centerpiece with flowers in the end.
