Cylindrical Mugs & More

I always do a demo on slab building cylindrical forms with my beginners classes. Using a cardboard form as a template for the width and support, we cut templates to size (accounting for the amount of clay we need to wrap around the cylinder as well as the height of the piece). Often times this becomes a lesson on handbuilding mugs, but I offer/suggest/teach a variety of forms including shot glasses, espresso cups, mugs/tumblers, vases, and jars.
