Carved Vases

My work is often characterized by my signature use of vibrant colors, repetition, and handmade patterns. I finds ways to introduce unexpected element, often through playful motifs and textured details that invite touch and interaction. A recurring symbol in my pottery is the strawberry. For each strawberry, I freehand the design, carve it from the clay, and then paint it with underglaze. I then use the sgraffito technique to carve the seeds into the red surface. This meticulous process imbues my pieces with both personality and individuality. The act of carving textures line by line with a loop tool is a grounding and therapeutic process for me.
